Supporting the Next Generation

At Seaton Partners, we believe it is vital to support young people and help them be better prepared for the world of work.

This week we were joined by Gavin for work experience, a GCSE student studying: Geography, Design, Media and Computer Science with a passion for ICT. His aim after GCSE is to secure an apprenticeship as he would like to get hands on experience rather than being classroom based.

To support his ambitions, we invited him to Seaton Partners to work with the team and two of our apprentices’ to provide insight into the skills and attitudes required by business, and to get a flavor of what it is like to work in the technology sector for a Microsoft Gold Partner.

Speaking with Gavin at the end of the week, he commented: “It’s been great to able to work with the team. I really enjoyed getting stuck in and working with the technical director, Andrew, who is an apprentice studying for a masters”.

Adam Seaton, MD, commented: “We really enjoyed having Gavin on-site and we hope that he has been inspired to continue pursuing a career in computer science especially given the recent research by the University of Roehampton, which has shown a 45 percent decline in computer science qualifications between 2017 and 2018”.
